Beginning his career in Cornwall, Michael apprenticed with the boatbuilders of Gweek Quay Boatyard, namely underneath shipwright Jon Bray. He went on to further his woodworking skills with many years spent in Joinery and Cabinetry workshops across the UK. Making everything from Georgian front doors to high end standalone furniture, whole room fit outs to bespoke structural pieces for architects. For clients both big and small.
His love of curves (and the water) ultimately brought him back to boats. He now applies this broad depth of knowledge and experience in building and restoring traditional boats alongside the joinery and cabinetry commissions.
Thanks to all the photographers who have shared their work with me, individual photo credits can be found throughout the site.
Michael is proud to have recently been accepted into the Guild of Master Craftsmen, an institute that champions quality, excellence and integrity.
